Hello New York! The ugly truth about chasing dreams....

Don't be negative!  Think positive!!!

I believe those two things whole heartedly.  That doesn't mean I need to be fake.  I want to keep it real with you.  I want to tell you something you don't hear often.

Yes, goals are important.  Yes, life is short - live it.  You should step out to reach your fullest potential in Christ.  I  still believe that too.
Here's the truth though:. You can have what you want but it won't feel like you thought it would feel.
Here's another truth: It will cost you.  Everything in life comes at a price.  Our relationship with Jesus came at the ultimate price.

Today, I'm in New York City, Manhattan area.  I'm here to teach people to create, facilitate, and plan the events that they love. (Or that they are doing for work or fun)

It is truly a dream come true.  I am blessed and thankful!

It also comes at a cost.  I miss my son when I'm traveling.  Working on the road isn't easy.  You miss out on life with the people you love.  It cost me.

Here's a myth: You must have lots of money.  That's definitely not true.  I left a twenty-two career to chase this dream.  That means I have significantly less money.

Is this Jesus leading me or am I have a "this is forty" meltdown?

There are times when I'm not sure myself.  I sure hope it's Jesus.

Time will tell.

The media, motivational speakers, and maybe even your teachers may tell you that an everyday life isn't enough.  They may make you think that living in the same place, working a regular job, and being a family person isn't enough.  They may make you think that you need to do more.  They may make you feel like you can't be great and simple.

They are wrong!  You are the backbone of this country.  There is nothing greater than hardworking Godly families.  You are amazing!   Remember that!

As for me, Jesus will deal with me.  I do feel a bit like I've sacrificed my ministry.  As if maybe I've dropped the ball.  Then again, sometimes when Jesus interrupts what you think you are doing for him to actually go do what he says.

Time will tell.

In New York City the same thing I say about other people and places is still true.

People are people.  There's no place like home.

I blew it...

I overheard a conversation between my son and his friend.   My immediate reaction, “Son!”  He laughs out loud and replies, “Pfffff, don’t s...
